Integrating the DiceSMS API in 10 minutes (with webhook delivery)

A documented REST API, plus an sms-activate-compatible mode for zero-code-change migrations. Here's the fast path.

If you're automating number rentals — for testing, for an internal tool, for anything that shouldn't require a human clicking through the dashboard — the API is built for exactly that.

Two ways to integrate

  1. Native REST API — documented endpoints for renting a number, polling its status, and checking your wallet balance.
  2. Legacy-compatible mode — if you already have code written against the sms-activate-style API shape, point it at DiceSMS's compatible endpoint and it works with zero code changes.

Skip polling with webhooks

Rather than polling a rental's status in a loop, register a webhook URL from your dashboard. The moment a code arrives, DiceSMS sends an HMAC-signed POST request to that URL — verify the signature, read the payload, done. It's faster than polling and uses a fraction of the requests.

Getting your API key

Your API key lives in account settings, and can be rotated instantly if it's ever exposed — rotating it invalidates the old key immediately, so there's no window where both an old leaked key and the new one work at once.
